Spreading God’s Love
While Christian missions have changed drastically over the last 100 years, the heart of missions has remained the same: believers obeying The Great Commission by traveling to foreign countries to meet people’s spiritual and physical needs. People’s spiritual needs have not changed, but in these last 100 years their physical needs have. Teaching English has become an effective way that missionaries can reach others in our modern world.
English is the undisputed global language today, and many nations are requiring their children to learn English. Unfortunately, in some rural parts of the world, schools do not have the resources to provide their students with quality English education.
Since 2001, VOICE Missions (VM) has been helping to meet this need in the nation of Taiwan by providing volunteer English teachers to rural schools. Their volunteers have many opportunities to share Christ’s love as they teach English and make friends in their various locations.
Missions Opportunities in Taiwan
Working as a missionary is challenging and demanding. Over the past 14 years, hundreds of dedicated Christian youth have come to Taiwan with VOICE Missions. While their main ministry is in the schools, many of their teams also have ministry opportunities in the local villages and communities surrounding their schools.
By working in the schools and showing love to the students, volunteers are able to build interpersonal relationship in the community as they get to know their student’s families. These relationships and friendships give them the opportunity to share the gospel with people who may have never before heard of Christ’s love.
If you are interested in this opportunity to represent Christ through teaching English in various locations in Taiwan, you can go to the VOICE Missions website for more information or to submit an application.
There is always in need for mature Christian young people who have a heart for ministry and a desire to serve Christ. If you are a young person that is at least 18, or you know of any young people in your church who would be interested, please prayerfully consider this ministry opportunity!
